1 · Before you record

1. Make sure the sound is good. Quiet room. Phone an arm's length from your mouth. Listen back with headphones before you post - if you would not sit through it, nobody will.
2. Don't yell. Phones squash loud sound into a buzz. Talk like the person is across the table. Energy is in the words and the eyes, not the volume.
3. No bad words, in the video or the caption. Not manners - reach. Filtered videos do not get shown, and you never find out why.
4. Light on your face, not behind you. Stand facing the window. A lamp behind the phone beats a ring light in front of a window.
5. Hold the phone upright. 9:16, the whole screen. Sideways video gets black bars and half the size.
6. The first second and a half is the whole video. Start in the middle of the thing. No "hey guys", no logo, no walking up to the camera. Say or show the reason to stay before they can scroll.
7. One idea. If you cannot say what the video is in five words, it is two videos.
8. 7 to 15 seconds for reach. Longer only if every second earns its place. A video watched twice counts more than one watched once.

2 · The sound

1. Take your sounds from TikTok itself. Record with a trending sound from inside the app (Add sound → the list). A sound the app is already pushing carries the video with it. Music from outside gets muted or flagged.
2. Put the words on screen. Most people watch with the sound off. Captions on, and the one line that matters as text in the first frame.

3 · Posting

1. Let TikTok choose. Make three versions - different hook, different first line - and post them on different days. The app tells you which one worked. You do not have to guess.
2. Don't spam. One or two a day, never the same clip twice, never the same caption on five videos. Spam is the fastest way to be shown to nobody.
3. Caption is a question. "Would you?" beats "Here is my video". Questions get answers; answers are what the app counts.
4. The first hour. Post when your people are awake, then stay: answer every comment for an hour. That hour decides whether it goes further.
5. Test it here first. Drop it in the room and ask. Three honest people beat a thousand strangers' silence.
